What positions are being advertised by the Central Bank of India, and when is the application period?
The Central Bank of India is recruiting Zone Based Officers in Junior Management Grade Scale I (Mainstream). The online registration period begins on 21st January 2025 and closes on 9th February 2025. The tentative date for the online examination is March 2025, with interview dates to be announced later. These positions are regular, full time roles at the bank.
What are the eligibility criteria for applying for the Zone Based Officer positions, particularly concerning age, education and experience?
To be eligible, candidates must be: a Citizen of India or a subject of Nepal, Bhutan, or a Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1st January, 1962, or a person of Indian origin who migrated from specified countries with the intention of permanently settling in India. Applicants must be between 21 and 32 years of age as of 30th November 2024 (with relaxations for certain categories). A graduation degree in any discipline from a recognised University or equivalent is required. For experience, candidates must have a minimum of 3 years experience in a Scheduled Commercial Bank, Scheduled Co-operative Bank, or Non-Banking Financial Company (NBFC) with assets of at least ₹500 Crores. NBFC experience is only considered in an officer/supervisory role, not clerical.
What is the application fee, and how should it be paid?
The application fee is ₹175 plus GST for Schedule Caste/Schedule Tribe/Persons with Benchmark Disabilities/Women candidates, and ₹850 plus GST for all other candidates. Payment is only to be made online via Debit/Credit card, Internet Banking, IMPS, or Cash Cards/Mobile Wallets. Transaction charges will be borne by the candidate.
How will candidates be selected and what is the structure of the online examination?
Selection is based on performance in an online written examination and an interview. The online test consists of 120 questions across four sections: English Language (20 questions), Banking Knowledge (60 questions), Computer Knowledge (20 questions), and Present Economic Scenario & General Awareness (20 questions). The total duration is 80 minutes. The weightage for the exam and interview is 70:30 and qualifying marks for written are 50% for General and 45% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates respectively. The interview has a maximum mark of 100 and requires the same qualifying scores.
