This recruitment is for two positions: President and Member. There are 6 vacancies for the position of President, who will be paid a salary in the range of ₹70,290 - ₹76,450, which is consistent with a District Judge in the Super Time Scale. There are 17 vacancies for the position of Member, who will be paid a salary within the scale of ₹61,900-₹228,100 (Level-26), equivalent to a Deputy Secretary to Government level. Note that if a person is already receiving a pension, their salary will be reduced by the gross amount of that pension. he selection process is based on merit, assessed through a Common Written Examination and a viva-voce (interview). The written exam consists of two papers. Paper-I is an objective type test (OMR-based) with questions on General Knowledge, Current Affairs, Constitution of India, and Consumer laws; Paper-II is a descriptive paper involving an essay on trade, commerce or consumer issues, and a consumer case study. The written exam is scored out of 200 marks (100 per paper), with a minimum qualifying score of 50% in each paper. Shortlisted candidates (1:3 ratio based on written exam scores, eligibility, experience and achievements) proceed to a viva-voce of 50 marks, to assess mental alertness, general knowledge, communication skills and other soft skills related to the judicial field.
